BVI: New Registry filing fee for the first Register of Directors
30 June 2021
Further to the BVI Business Companies (Amendment of Schedule 1) Order, 2021 (the amendment order), a fee of USD75 will be introduced for filing of the first register of directors (ROD). Please note that a filing fee of USD75 will be added to the incorporation of all BVI companies incorporated on or after 1 Jul 2021. Where companies incorporated before 1 July 2021, but are filing their first ROD on 1 July or later, this fee will also be chargeable. Clients are reminded that the first register of directors is required to be filed within 21 days of appointment.
It should also be noted from the amendment order, the Registry will only issue digital certificates as standard going forward, therefore an additional USD50 fee will be payable where an original paper certificate is required. This applies to the certificate of incorporation, as well as certificates of good standing and other Registry certificates.
The amendment order can be viewed here. For any queries, please contact your usual Marbury team member or via this page.
